CLASS
Descriptions

No matter your pole goals, we've got options for you. Some of us want to just flow and dance. Others are trying to push to the upper levels of pole and continually challenge themselves in the air. There's a place for everyone here to have fun, learn, grow, and get in a great workout.

Students seeking upper level classes MUST have prior approval to attend. You will not be able to sign up in Mindbody without it. To test out or seek prior approval if you're visiting from out of town, email poledancecollectivekc@gmail.com.

Pole Tricks 1

Welcome to pole dancing! In Pole Tricks 1, we will work on beginner foundational movements to help build strength and coordination on the pole. This is step one in your pole journey.

Be sure to wear athletic shorts to class and avoid putting on body lotion immediately before class (it makes your grip on the pole slippery).

Beginner Pole Choreography

Build your dance vocabulary and fluidity with pole choreography. Beginner Pole Choreography focuses on building fluid transitions through choreography and freestyling using Level 1 movements. In this class, you'll learn a dance to a song. We keep the routine the same the whole month so you can have time to continue to learn and refine your movement.

Knee pads, as well as dressing in layers (pole shorts, pants) are recommended.

Intermediate Pole Choreography

Elevate your dance vocabulary and fluidity with pole choreography. This class is not recommended for first time polers, but is open to all levels. Intermediate Pole Choreography introduces more complicated transitions and choreographies, while staying within Level 1 movements.

Knee pads, as well as dressing in layers (pole shorts, pants) are recommended.

Floorwork/Basework

It's time to get slinky and work the floor and the lower third of the pole. This class will be a blend of movements and transitions both on and off the pole, connecting to the floor in a sensual way. Wear layers, knee pads, and bring a short sleeve shirt.

This class is open to all levels.

Pole Tricks 2

Time to take your pole skills into the upside down realm! Pole Tricks 2 focuses on foundational movements, including inverts, outside and inside leg hangs, and cross ankle release. We will be using a lot of skin grip, so pole shorts are a must have.

Students are required to test out of Level 1 in order to attend.

Pole Tricks 3

In this intermediate class, Pole Tricks 3 continues to build on aerial pole skills and provides a solid foundation for advanced skills. Students will be working on movements like aerial inverts, shoulder mounts and extended butterflies.

Students must test out of Level 2 in order to attend.

Pole Tricks 4

In this advanced class, Pole Tricks 4 builds the skills necessary for advanced pole movements and transitions. Level 4 students will be working on movements like ayeshas, aerial shoulder mounts and more complicated aerial transitions.

Mixed Levels Spin Pole

In this all levels spin pole class, we focus on smooth transitions and flows from upright pole positions. If you want to improve your air walks and grace in spin pole, this is the class for you! We highly recommend having some pole experience under your belt before attending.

Bendy Babes

Come work on your flexibility in this all levels class! In Bendy Babes, we will work towards movements like our splits and back bends. You don't need to be bendy to attend. We will provide exercises for all levels of flexibility. We rotate each week between working on our front splits, middle splits, rotational mobility, shoulders and back bends.

Mobility & Conditioning

Pole dancing is @#$%ing hard. Mobility & Conditioning is designed for all levels to help you elevate your pole practice. The movements we work on can help you feel stronger in your spins, climbs, inverts (or help you work toward), and more. This is primarily an off-the-pole conditioning class to get you stronger for pole.
